It’s been awhile since I last posted on Tumblr and I’m now coming into Week 34. Sometimes, I just can’t believe how time flies as I still remembered the time when I did the pregnancy test, and the lines were very faint plus the doctor could not see much through the ultrasound. The whole idea of being pregnant at that time was very vague, totally unconfirmed. But soon enough, weeks turned into months and here I am, Alhamdullilah in Week 34. So far, from my recent check up things are looking good and I’m very much grateful for that. The doctor did mention that the baby is average in size neither too big nor too small, and I hope things go well for the baby inside.

On Wednesday evening, I went for another antenatal checkup at the private clinic I usually frequent to get another ultrasound done as well as some advice from the obstetrician regarding my pregnancy that Alhamdullilah is coming into Week 30. Until recently, I have been experiencing some shortness of breath and once felt a sharp pain near my lower ribs. However, its nothing major and was most probably caused by some minor gastric problems due to the pregnancy and that has certainly gave me some peace of mind on the matter.
I’ve been talking more to the baby now since I’ve overcome the thought that I feel silly doing so and I guess the baby is also enjoying the attention. Apart from being more active, she’s also beginning to accommodate the upper belly area instead of hiding down below. I’m also enjoying this bonding moments and somehow its helping me come into terms of embracing motherhood, an experience that terrifies and excites me at the same time. Sometimes being the usual worrywart, thinking too much about expectations of being a mommy certainly overwhelms me so I’m trying my best to have positive thoughts about it. Insya Allah, with Allah’s will everything will go smoothly.
From the ultrasound, the obstetrician has finally found out that the baby will be a GIRL! So Insya Allah, on my next shopping trip for the baby’s things I will no longer be torn apart into choosing colors. So far, I’ve bought most of the necessary items like a few pairs of clothes (all white), diapers, baby toiletries, mittens and booties, towels and baby wipes. I have yet to find blankets that I like since I was then only concentrating on neutral colors and patterns and I couldn’t find any thats nice. Most of the nicer blankets available at the store were in blues and pinks so I didn’t buy any. I also had to skip the baby hat on the list because I couldn’t find any thats nice in neutral color. I think I’ll most probably get the little red flowered hat since its too adorable to resist. I’d probably get the bigger items later on when the baby is born, Insya Allah.
I’ve washed most of the baby’s clothes today and I have just discovered something. I’ve always thought that the sweet scented smell came from babies but turns out its actually the baby’s detergent! I truly had to laugh at myself over the silly thought.
I thought I’d share some of the baby’s photos on Tumblr. These are some of my favorites in the collection. All the photos were taken when the baby was in Week 27.

Surely, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.
